Today, Pastor David gave me a particular subject to write a monologue for... So I sat down and fired up my computer, and prepared to deliver some words. But I got nothing. Here's an idea.. Let's hold off on that subject, I want to tell you a story.. Use your imagination, and picture this:
There's an elderly lady sitting in her living room. Keep in mind that this is many years ago when color TV first came out, and there was no Dish network or time warner cable, just a big bulky antenna to go on your roof. So picture this lady sitting in front of her "picture tube" (TV) and seeing nothing but fuzz and hearing only static. She opens the window so that she can he her husband holler "Haddy Mae, you got anything now?" She looks at the static driven TV giving no reception, and hollers back to her husband "Nothin yet Paw," who is adjusting the antenna on the roof. "How about now?" He says.. "Nope" She replies... He adjusts again and says "Now??"..."Nope... "How about now?".."Nothing."... "Got anything now?"... "No.".. "Okay, how about now?".. "I don't see nothin!"
That's where I'm at right now... It's different when your "on assignment" to guild a document. I tried getting up, walking around, and talking through it..And... Nothing. I also prayed, and put on some good, emotion driven music... Nothing. I thought "maybe if I just treated this like a blog, and not like an assignment, it'll come to me." So I minimized my microsoft word window, and opened up a posting link for my blog, thinking that might alleviate some pressure, and, nothing... Then, I tried just sitting in silence, in hopes that my mind would have less to focus on. Still, after adjusting the antenna again, nothing... So then I thought, hmm, why don't I write a blog post to sort of "warm-up." Guess how that worked?? The truth is, I don't know if this adjustment on the antenna worked yet or not because this is that blog. So, if your wondering if there's any point to this short narrative, I have news for you... There isn't. Just trying to prime up the wheels jammed in my grammar output.. Or, I guess you could say that I'm trying to "move the writer's block." Will this work?? Soon, we shall see.. Until then.. I'm sorry this wasted your time, but hey, at least you got a free ride back to life before cable... :D
